Strengths
Very smart player with command of the offense. Quick release. Puts adequate zip on underneath and intermediate passes. Delivers accurate strikes before a defender can close on the ball. Able to lower his arm angle to change the trajectory of throws. Impressive throw power with the willingness to push the ball downfield. Quick to set his feet and deliver vertical shots. Will recognize and hit targets down the seams. Tremendous touch and timing on slot fades and wheel routes. Very accurate on quick-strike throws (swings, screens, hitches, outs). Works through full-field progressions. Great patience allowing routes to develop when given time in the pocket. Throws an outstanding back-shoulder ball. Very good touch in the red zone. Will use a pump fake to manipulate defenders. Terrific accuracy on the move and rolling out both ways. Excellent ball handling. Has the athleticism and creativity to extend plays. Plenty of experience with zone reads. Has the speed to hurt opponents when given space to run. Uses shake to evade defenders. Often came through with big-time throws when needed even if not playing well.
Weaknesses
Below-average size. Didn’t need to make a ton of tight-window throws. Seems to get overconfident and will make questionable decisions/throws. Would like to see him stick with the play a bit longer at times. Will have a receiver hit an open window just after he breaks the pocket or throws to an outlet receiver. Has some throws sail on him. Gets lost in a muddled pocket and fades away versus pressure. Had two interceptions versus Florida (2022) and could have had at least two more. Arrested for public intoxication in January.

Conclusion
Overall, Bennett is the prototypical backup quarterback with the potential to be a starter in the right situation. As a projected Day 3 selection, he can pay huge dividends as a two-time national champion with high intelligence and playmaking ability.
