Strengths
Prototype height and overall size. Tremendous athleticism with fluid movement skills. Hands are big and soft. Excellent speed and fast running routes. Quick feet and able to sink his hips in and out of breaks. Great burst to separate out of the steam of routes. Crisp and precise on in-breaking routes to prevent defenders from undercutting throws. Big target down the seam. Runs past defenders on vertical routes. Catches the ball comfortably with exceptional spatial awareness down the field. Very reliable going to the ground for a grab. Looks for open space on broken plays. Sells blocking for delayed routes on play-action passes. Will lower his shoulder to pick up additional yardage. Experience playing in the slot and outside the numbers in addition to in-line duties. Strikes/engages with accuracy as an in-line blocker. Has shown an ability to create a seal on the edge for outside runs. Very good run blocker in space. Moves his feet very well as a pass blocker.
Weaknesses
Routes can slow down with defenders close. Can fail to come down with some contested catches with a defender on his back. Mostly a positioning blocker that can do a better job staying attached. Needs to avoid dropping his eyes when engaging as a blocker. Only played two games in 2022 due to a knee injury suffered in September.

Conclusion
Overall, Musgrave is a fluid tight end with impressive athleticism that can run routes all over the field. He has room to improve as a blocker, but Musgrave’s best fit could be as a detached option that will create mismatches in the passing game.
