Strengths
Low in his stance for a taller center. Outstanding overall power. Very strong hands to stay engaged. Does a great job maintaining blocks while opponents use their hands to fight. Quick to connect versus linebackers coming downhill. Shows he can get to the second level and smoothly turn his hips to seal off opponents. Effective transitioning to a block on the second level. Excellent vision and awareness on the move. Good ability to catch a piece of defenders with his shoulder on pulls. Shows toughness and grit in short-yardage situations. Able to get low and wide when cutting to create space. Jumps on opponents that he knocks down. Sells a block at the snap before getting into the open field on screen passes. Great overall technique as a pass blocker. Keeps a wide base. Smooth sliding back in deeper pass sets. Very accuracy with hand placement and reach. Tremendous patience and very aware in pass protection. Extremely rare field vision and feel. Pointed out an open receiver down the field as pressure closed on the quarterback versus Alabama (2023). Clearly cares and shows both intensity and disappointment for team success/failure. Seems to be a character based on some of his reactions. Shows he will peel off after plays to hustle back to the huddle.
Weaknesses
Below-average length. Can play with more balance/control in his lower half. Ends up on the ground quite a bit. Will get stiff at the waist and lean forward trying to extend. Stiffness and lowering of eyes leads to some misses. Can be jolted by more impactful defensive linemen. Allows quicker opponents to side step him too easily. Peripheral vision isn’t as good and has been attacked from the side.

Conclusion
Overall, Van Pran-Granger is an intelligent center that can make various blocks in the running game and shows very well in pass protection. Even with some balance and length concerns, he should be a solid starter with scheme versatility at the next level.
