Strengths

Ideal height and frame. Outstanding play recognition and instincts. Very smooth opening out of press coverage. Great feet for a perimeter cornerback with his play style. Exciting potential in bump-and-run coverage. Above-average speed. Excellent fluidity and awareness in zone coverage. Tremendous in short zone coverage. Extremely quick to plant and drive on throws in front of him. Shows impressive recovery burst in coverage. Terrific shading underneath crossing routes. Instinctive undercutting throws in man coverage. Lags slightly behind and breaks quickly on the throw. Tremendous ball skills. Great ability to reach and poke the ball away. Gets his head around to play downfield passes. Will come in with big hits at the catch point. Mostly played right cornerback but has experience on both sides. Saw some snaps in the slot. Brings some aggressiveness as a tackler. Quick flowing to the edge to position himself versus the run. Will work to get off blocks in the open field and make the tackle. Not really targeted versus talented Texas wide receivers (2023). Has experience on punt return unit.

Weaknesses

Hard vertical plants down the field sometimes leads to separation. Could be susceptible to double moves by peaking at the quarterback. Will turn his back in coverage transitions to play in-breaking cuts. Slower reacting to sharp in cuts. Will overplay a route allow space versus quickness. Loses his man through traffic at times. Often gets the job done but is too much of a fly-by tackler.

Conclusion

Overall, Tampa is a very instinctive cornerback that provides an excellent blend of cover talent and playmaking ability. His game is very similar to standout Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas, and he should be a great target late in Round 1 or early in Round 2.
