Strengths

Plus length for his build. Excellent raw strength. Outstanding overall athleticism. Excellent initial burst. Very good change-of-direction skills. Impressive acceleration and speed. Very low at the snap to create leverage. Uses both hands to engage and shed. Able to use one hand to engage/extend and make the tackle. Can control opponents he gets his hands on. Has plays where he seems to take down bigger opponents with ease. Good instincts/feel to split blockers. Excellent pursuit and reaction time. Great range playing runs to the edge. Does his best to anchor to the ground versus double teams. Shows discipline as a backside defender. Effective wrapping up to finish. Impressive push power getting his hands on the chest of offensive linemen as a rusher. Uses a rip move to get past opponents and separate. Very effective on stunts. Uses a spin move. Quickly gets back to his feet if knocked to the ground. Has seen snaps as a five-technique. Athletic and comfortable in short zone drops. Played great versus Ohio State (2023). NFL bloodlines as the son of former defensive lineman Kris Jenkins (and nephew of former defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins).

Weaknesses

Needs to learn how to unlock his athleticism and use leverage more as a pass rusher. Still developing his moves and overall pass-rush repertoire. Gets too upright rushing the passer. Impact power is inconsistent. Sometimes has ball-carriers just slip past his reach through the hole. Had some reps where he would get wiped out.

Conclusion

Overall, Jenkins is an athletic defensive lineman with versatility, power, NFL bloodlines, and flashes of standout play. The key for him will be putting it all together to be more consistent, particularly as a pass rusher.
