Strengths
Absolutely massive size. Overwhelming strength/power. Outstanding natural athleticism. Extremely light feet for his weight class. Plays with tremendous balance. Impressive overall quickness. Phenomenal instincts. Tough to move off the spot based on size/strength. Can get two hands on an offensive lineman and control them in the trenches. Will extend with blockers on his sides and hold his spot. Has shown quality penetrating ability. Able to split blockers and plug up a gap. Does a nice job keeping his feet versus cut blocks. Engulfs opponents as a tackler. Easily takes down ball-carriers when he gets his hands on them. Shows some hustle to help clean things up. Quick to shed in general. Hands stay active to combat the reach of blockers. Will push with one hand and strike with the other on power rushes. One-handed strikes to the side of opponents are very impactful. Jolts opponents backward on bull rushes. Very effective swim move as a rusher. Great reaction time to deflect passes. Gets fired up after making stops. Ideal understanding of how to play team defense. Saw snaps as a three-technique and even lined up over the offensive tackle to rush the passer. Blocked a short field goal versus Iowa State (2023). Athleticism shown with touchdown catch and Heisman pose in Big 12 Championship Game (2023).
Weaknesses
Inconsistent motor as a pass rusher. Lacks pursuit and range to track down mobile quarterbacks out of the pocket. Doesn’t have the pure speed that some top monster defensive linemen do. Would like to see him play a little faster to make tackles for himself. Could be quicker disengaging at times. Feet can get all over the place. Fatigue and fitness will likely be an issue. Arrested for driving while intoxicated in early April.

Conclusion
Overall, Sweat is a monstrous defensive lineman with overwhelming size and strength that should at least be a dominant run defender at the next level. His athleticism and movement skills can unlock more upside for Sweat to pay dividends as a Day 2 prospect for teams comfortable with the character.
