Strengths
Tremendous speed. Extremely athletic and quick on his feet. Very good length and range. Flies around the field. Tremendous pursuit and plays hard. Excellent overall play recognition. Instant reaction time and trigger. Great vision to track ball-carriers through traffic. Quick identifying plays to the perimeter. Outstanding closing burst. Attacks and hits with force on run blitzes. Very slippery and aggressive working through blockers. Avoids blocks while keeping his eyes on the action. Will use his hands to shed. Sees a gap up front and shoots through it. Takes on ball-carriers in the hole. Will use the hit stick when he can. Doesn’t back down from bigger opponents. Phenomenal ability to diagnose screen passes. Physical and throws his body around to get in on gang tackles. Saw snaps in slot/overhang position. Great when used in man coverage versus tight ends and running backs. Good patience/feel for covering outlet/flare routes. Very smooth backpedal in zone drops. Fast as a blitzer coming off the edge. Excellent quarterback spy. Has experience on kick and punt coverage. Tracked down Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe for 3.0 sacks and was everywhere in the loss (2023).
Weaknesses
Thin overall build. Would like to see him add strength as a wrap-up tackler. Often needs to wrangle/spin opponents to the ground rather than taking them down immediately. Can be out of control as a tackler. Would like to see him break down and wrap better to avoid whiffs. Allows cutback lanes due to aggressiveness. Guesses at times and flows out of position on runs between the tackles.

Conclusion
Overall, Cooper is a fast, physical linebacker that can be a tone-setter for an NFL defense based on how aggressive he is. The best fit would in a blitz-heavy defensive scheme that allows him to be on the attack as an off-ball linebacker.
