Strengths
Big-time speed. Extremely light on his feet. Tremendous fluidity and quickness. Smooth movement skills in space. Tremendous burst/acceleration. Great pursuit to the sideline. Excellent play recognition versus outside runs. Does his best handling traditional linebacker duties with good technique. Wraps up ball-carriers on the second level. Comfortable getting his hands dirty for a player his size. Fast filling a gap versus the run. Will meet and take on a lead blocker. Works to get off or around blocks. Phenomenal as a quarterback spy. Picks his spots for when to attack. Plenty of experience lining up along the line of scrimmage from the edge. Extremely fast as a blitzer and closes quickly on quarterbacks he gets in his sights. Uses full force to hit targets. Excellent bend turning the corner. Very comfortable in the slot/overhang position. Outstanding in man coverage versus tight ends. Very fast covering running backs in the flat. Great feel in underneath coverage. Will be all over short curl routes between the numbers. Able to get a hand in at the catch point. Very quick to recognize and play quick passes and screens. Calls things out and makes adjustments before the play. Excelled as a quarterback spy versus LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels (2023). Had a game-changing strip sack and fumble recovery for a touchdown versus Clemson (2023).
Weaknesses
Undersized in terms of weight/build. Guesses and vacates a gap at times. Will get attached to blockers trying to work downhill between the tackles. Offensive linemen can wipe him out. Could be more consistent choosing to go over or under a blocker.

Conclusion
Overall, DeLoach is a fast, fluid linebacker that should at least be a standout option on passing downs for an NFL defense. In a league with more and more athleticism at the quarterback position, he can even be a specialist to track mobiles passers.
