Strengths
Massive overall size. Imposing and appears to be in good shape despite weight. Extremely powerful. Hands are big and very strong. Bulldozer in the running game. Generates outstanding push at the point of attack. Able to move bigger defensive lineman off the spot. Routinely overpowers opponents and uses torque to get them on the ground. Tries to bury opponents when he can. Very effective on double teams. Stays attached and locks out opponents when he latches cleanly. Good ability to turn his hips and shield off opponents. Will lunge to catch a piece of a defender and still generate power. Can get the job done with a shoulder block/charge. Not lumbering at his size. Gets going and can blow opponents up with a straight path in space. Keeps a balanced base and stays wide in pass protection. Smooth in pass sets. Doesn’t get overpowered as a pass blocker. Impressive foot quickness and does just enough at his size to handle speed rushes. Does a very nice job moving his feet to stick with opponents. Uses hands in pass protection to fight off opponents trying to get hands on his chest. Won’t overextend when he gets depth as a pass blocker.
Weaknesses
Vulnerable to inside counters and spins versus quicker rushers. Will lower his eyes into contact and miss when defenders have a little distance. Susceptible to side-step moves. Needs to be careful with hand placement of outside arm wrapping around upper chest in pass protection. Will tug and lift the jersey of opponents around the shoulders. Quickness and reaction time is slower in space.

Conclusion
Overall, Latham is a big, imposing offensive tackle with tremendous power in the running game and a solid foundation as a pass blocker. He needs to clean up his hand placement, but Latham is worth taking in the middle of the first round.
