Strengths

Elite burst and explosiveness. Home-run speed. Solid overall build. Able to shed an early arm tackle and go the distance. Has a second gear to run away from defenders. Great balance/feet to step out of low tackles breaking into the open field. Outstanding acceleration getting to the edge. Will bounce a run and look for a lane to accelerate downhill. Very effective shuffle juke cut working towards the sideline. Strong stiff arm. Knows how to loop and avoid contact in space. Allows blocking to develop in front of him when he picks a hole to run through. Strong and determined to stay up between the tackles. Shows impressive power in the trenches to push a pile. Instinctive in close quarters. Has quality hands and should have more upside in the passing game. Good crispness on simple out cuts as a route runner. Experience lining up in the slot and being targeted on screen passes. Shows he will stand in and stone blitzers. Used as a lead blocker on quarterback sweeps. Broke a 75-yard touchdown on the first player versus Georgia (2023).

Weaknesses

Looks a bit stiff and lacking elusive twitch considering his skillset. Cuts behind the line of scrimmage can be too dramatic. Will cut into the wrong gap as a hole develops. Inconsistent vision and decisiveness. Will miss or be slow seeing a rushing lane. Sometimes want to see him just go when there is a clear crease. Doesn’t accelerate quite as well after making a cut. Sometimes goes down too easily and would like to see him rip through with speed/explosiveness.

Conclusion

Overall, Wright is a big-play runner with major speed and explosiveness to rip off chunk gains for an NFL offense. He needs to be more consistent behind the line of scrimmage, but untapped potential in the passing game and pure ability makes Wright a solid investment on Day 2.
