Strengths

Very smooth runner. Extremely controlled and fluid overall movements. Tremendous vision and patience following his blocks. Decisive between the tackles. Great burst through the hole. Knows how to get skinny through the hole or between defenders. Ultra-impressive feel considering experience and will find escape hatches. Outstanding vision on outside runs. Presses sweeps to the outside before seeing the lane and cutting. Can make a defender miss while getting downhill. Recognizes and takes opportunities to bounce runs. Acceleration leads to poor angles from defenders early. Extremely instinctive with the ball. Glides when he gets in the open field. Terrific strength and contact balance. Runs with some anger/determination. Can brush off defenders and keep moving. Will throttle down and vary speeds in space. Hits the turbo button for a deceptive burst in the open field. Very slippery and elusive. Tough to square up with a tackle in space. Able to read defenders at a distance to set up a move. Strong stiff arm. Excellent juke move. Has a great spin move and can string them together. Can make opponents miss when they get penetration. Former wide receiver with terrific hands. Able to run downfield routes. Great in pass protection considering limited experience. Has experience as a kick returner.

Weaknesses

Breakaway speed doesn’t match timed speed and can be caught on long runs. Sometimes holds the ball away from his body trying to make things happen. Played in a spread scheme where multiple runners had success.

Conclusion

Overall, Tracy is an extremely instinctive and smooth running back with an unbelievable feel for the position considering his experience. Despite limited production as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, he should have no problems being a big part of an NFL passing attack in addition to what he brings to the table as a runner.
