Strengths
Prototype overall size. Very smooth movement skills. Excellent play strength. Phenomenal body control and leaping ability. Knows how to separate with the ball in the air. Uses his size to shield off defenders. Outstanding shake and suddenness running routes. Impressive release quickness and can win decisively at the snap. Great acceleration. Tremendous speed and can run past coverage. Will press cornerbacks onto their heels as a deep route runner. Exceptional catching the ball over the shoulder. Terrific ability to reach back and extend for passes thrown behind him. Strong hands and catch focus with defenders around him. Snatches the ball with his hands over the middle. Works back hard to the quarterback on stop routes. Able to absorb passes that he locates late. Uses deception to get free as a route runner. Shows an ability to smoothly throttle down into breaks. Good crispness cutting on post routes. Great feet along the boundary. Experience both outside the numbers and in the slot. Used on reverses to get the ball in his hands. Does a quality job as a blocker and will make blocks between the hashes. Big-game player with a touchdown in all six CFB Playoff games. Scored against top cornerbacks such as Denzel Burke (Ohio State 2022) and Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama 2023). Excitement about team success alleviates potential concerns about football character based on weaknesses.
Weaknesses
Needs to completely hone himself in as a route runner. Many of his routes aren’t run at full speed. Will coast if not the intended target. Route breaks can be sloppy. Would like to see more consistent burst coming out of breaks. Doesn’t get off coverage as easily with cornerbacks on his hip. Dips his shoulder and loses control trying to beat press jams. Can get knocked off the path in general. Lacks yards-after-catch production considering his athleticism and speed. Almost loops too far back to the football on in-breaking routes and will locate it late. Could be more consistent as a blocker by moving his feet better and having increased refinement. Just seems to play with a general lack of focus.

Conclusion
Overall, Mitchell is an extremely talented wide receiver with outstanding athleticism, ball skills, and ability as a route runner. The question will be is if he can have his potential fully unlocked at the next level by playing faster and with more consistent focus.
