Strengths
Very smooth mover. Above-average speed and acceleration. Quick feet with deceptiveness to set up cornerbacks on slant routes. Knows how to get cornerbacks on their heels in general. Flashes excellent separation using shake. Knows how to slip past defenders and use burst running routes. Great sinking into breaks. Crafty and uses head manipulation to create space underneath. Will use a subtle push off. Varies release speeds and sets up opponents early on deep crossing routes. Good pacing on drag routes. Catches very cleanly in space and on the move. Secure making body catches. Consistently gets vertical from the slot. Tremendous setting up deep corner routes. Shows an ability to high point the ball down the field. Throttles down effectively on deeper stop routes. Smooth on out-and-up double moves. Slippery to make defenders miss after the catch. Outstanding strength and balance to have defenders bounce off him. Shows physicality near the sideline. Has experience running routes out of the backfield. Used on motion handoffs to get the ball in his hand. Saw snaps as a wildcat quarterback. Has thrown the ball on trick plays and showed a quick release. Will make blocks inside.
Weaknesses
Hands will be inconsistent over the middle with safeties behind him and/or bearing down. Inconsistent coming down with passes when contested. Likely needs to clean up some of his movements as a route runner to be more precise for an NFL offense. Knocked around by UCLA linebackers in 2022 matchup (would be illegal contact in the NFL). Didn’t have much luck breaking tackles versus an aggressive and talented Michigan defense (2023). Would like to see more consistency as a blocker.

Conclusion
Overall, McMillan is a smooth wide receiver that shows outstanding shake and craftiness in addition to an ability to get deep. He should be a standout complementary option with the skillset to thrive in any offensive scheme.
