Strengths

Excellent speed. Outstanding acceleration. Great contact balance. Extremely quick and elusive. Very impressive strength as a runner. Physical to run through tacklers. Will brush off blows and keep moving. Used on various designed touches. Catches the ball smoothly on slants and screens. Tremendous vision in space. Patient and knows how to vary speeds with the ball in the open field. Terrific balance along the sideline. Finishes runs with physicality. Flashes an ability to catch passes in front of him or behind him when on the move. Very dangerous on drag routes and crossers. Good crispness on corner routes. Gets vertical from the slot. Will run double moves to get downfield. Has a curl-and-go double move. Catches the ball well over the shoulder. Mostly lined up in the slot but also played outside the numbers. Has seen traditional snaps at running back. Shows very well running between the tackles. Often used in motion at the snap. Does a quality job as a blocker. Totally went off versus Louisiana Tech and had two highlight catch-and-run scores (2023).

Weaknesses

Lacks overall refinement as a route runner. Limited high-point ability down the field. Does not adjust very well to the ball in the air. Has trouble working back to the football down the field. Lacking as a downfield tracker if not open and given an accurate throw. Struggles to come down with tougher contested catches with defenders on him. Has passes broken up at the catch point. Too much of a body catcher. Seems to see the ball late at times. Gets sidetracked by contact getting into routes. Can be slowed by contact coming out of breaks. Could be faster throttling down and bursting on out breaks. Build could be a bit thin for his play style.

Conclusion

Overall, Corley is a very talented player with the ball in his hands, and the skillset should be there to improve as a route runner. The question will be if the lack of natural receiving skills prevent him from becoming a major offensive factor if not in the perfect situation where he’s given designed touches on a consistent basis.
