Strengths

Major explosiveness. Excellent speed. Thrived both in the slot and outside the numbers. Soft hands and outstanding hand-eye coordination. Tough going over the middle. Difficult to run with across the field when he gets a step. Efficient making simple route breaks on crossing routes. Quick breaking off stop routes. Very crisp on corner routes. Smooth on in and post cuts. Exceptional feet in and out of breaks on more complex routes. Shows an ability to eat up off coverage from the slot and get defenders on their heels. Terrific deceptiveness on double moves. Can get vertical both out wide and from the slot. Excellent body control and ability to adjust for passes in the air. Has some levitation skills as a leaper. Tough to leap for downfield catches in traffic. Tremendous ability to track the ball over the shoulder. Comfortable absorbing body catches on the move. Excellent reaching back for passes and catching with his hands. Used on reverses and pop passes. Great vision on screen passes. Has physicality as a runner. Does a nice job initially engaging as a blocker. Flashed as a punt returner. Package of skills showed on highlight one-handed grab versus Charlotte (2023)

Weaknesses

Releases can be too segmented versus press coverage. Sometimes neutralized by more physical jams. Can struggle to separate with a defender right on him. Doesn’t deal with not having a clear path well running routes. Would like to see him avoid contact on deeper routes. Slow plays routes when he shouldn’t at times. Had some less accurate passes bounce off his hands underneath. Might tip the out-and-up double move by not exploding on the out break. Will cut downfield routes short at times if he doesn’t beat his man (despite the ball still being thrown). Would like to see him sustain blocks better.

Conclusion

Overall, Pearsall is a versatile and explosive inside-outside pass-catcher with great hands and ability as a route runner. If he can be better playing through contact, the traits are there for him to be a very productive pass-catcher.
