Strengths

All-world speed. Elite acceleration and explosiveness. Opens up the field with clearout routes. Tremendous ability to track throws over the shoulder. Excellent ability to hit another gear to run under a throw. Gets his hands out late to bring in the deep ball and let it drop in the bucket. Very explosive and crisp breaking off deep corner routes. Uses hands to bring in throws away from his body. Catches the ball smoothly underneath and on screen passes. Shows courage extending for throws on the run while going towards traffic. Reliable target on hitches and curls. Good feel for settling in intermediate zone windows. Throttles down smoothly on stop routes. Works back to the ball on short/intermediate passes. Will jump for high-point grabs with defenders close. Extremely comfortable and aware along the boundary. Outstanding balance to run along the sideline and sprint upfield. Very impressive strength/balance combination as a runner at his size. Excellent instincts. Slippery to make the first defender miss when he gets the ball in his hands. Tough to lower his shoulder. Experience lining up all over. Has seen snaps in the backfield. Gives some effort and holds his own as a blocker for his size. Deadly punt returner. Legitimate arm talent to throw on trick plays.

Weaknesses

Can be completely overpowered by aggressive press coverage. Gets ridden on inside releases versus press. Doesn’t have the size and aggressiveness to come down with underthrown deep balls. Lacks complexity as a route runner. Ran a simple overall route tree. Hands are less reliable when he needs to reach a little further for throws. Will take some big hits along the sideline. Would like to see him run towards open space more with the ball (sometimes runs into contact).

Conclusion

Overall, Worthy is an explosive, big-play weapon with elite speed to stretch the field and open things up for the entire offense. He can also be a reliable target underneath, and perhaps more will be shown as a pure route runner in an NFL passing attack.
