Excellent size and length. Extremely smooth overall movement skills. Very good burst/acceleration. Stays on opponents early when jamming. Patient when faced with more deliberate releases. Great play recognition in zone coverage. Very effective covering down the field when in phase. Quick in the backpedal and stays on top of vertical routes when ready to play them from off coverage. Knows how to close on the receiver and play the ball on downfield throws. Defends downfield throws without panicking or grabbing even when receivers have a step. Shows he can match stutter-and-go routes. Tremendous awareness and tracking ability down the field. Smooth ball skills. Quick to jump on hitches from off coverage. Overall, Alexander is a smooth cornerback with prototype size and length who best fits in a scheme with heavy Cover-3 concepts. The effectiveness as a tackler and general feel for defending the run should boost his value for teams as a Day 2 target.
