Strengths

Plays low with an athletic/muscular build. Tremendous length for his size. Terrific change-of-direction skills. Very athletic movement skills in general. Great acceleration. Tremendous ability to bend on the corner and flatten. Dips and rips on the speed rush. Speed rushes can be extremely direct and efficient on short drops. Will get offensive tackles on their heels and win with quick feet and burst either inside or outside. Swim moves are very quick and can be used in succession. Quick hands swiping down and stabbing on rushes. Can make a sudden inside move to crash the pocket. Has an inside spin move in the toolbox. Very fluid on stunts. Athletic to leave his feet for a sack. Strong wrapping up. Extremely accurate reaching the chest of blockers and extending. Great ability to shed after extension. Hands are quick to shed in general. Quick to swim around blockers as a run defender. Strong and aggressive taking on blockers. Very physical taking on tight ends and wide receivers. Pinches down and extends versus blockers defending the run on the edge. Quick to dip and crash inside versus the run. Excellent pursuit down the line of scrimmage as a backside defender. Defeated both block attempts by standout Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou in both matchups with an unbalanced line (2024). Mostly played standing up on the edge but comfortable with his hand in the dirt. Has experience dropping in coverage.

Weaknesses

Should be more consistently successful on speed rushes and had sacks come in bunches. Sometimes slow into his rush. Power rush is still being developed. Undersized in terms of height. Too often loses his footing both as a rusher and taking on blockers. Needs to be more consistent setting the edge versus the run. Can be more relentless in pursuit away from the ball. Athleticism doesn’t always seem to be fully unleashed and will sometimes look stiff/plodding in pursuit. General awareness could be improved. Seems to be unprepared for blocks later in the play.

Conclusion

Overall, Ezeiruaku is an athletic pass rusher with an ability to win on the speed rush and flashes a variety of moves to play off it. Added consistency is needed for him to reach his potential, and Ezeiruaku best fits as a 3-4 outside linebacker who can at least have a role in passing downs.
