Strengths
Very instinctive overall player. Tremendous pacing and speed running routes to set up cuts that create separation. Extremely quick breaking off short routes and bursting to create separation. Fast to get a step on drag routes. Crisp on slant routes. Smooth on quick out routes and into the flat. Excellent feet on pivot routes. Quick to throttle down on stop routes. Great feel to work back to the ball on underneath routes with defenders closing in. Impressive feel and awareness in general. Sets opponents up with inside leans on corner routes. Less than prototypical size. Somewhat plodding trying to fight through contact as a route runner. Needs to be better fighting through physicality in coverage to complete his route. Can be inconsistent bringing in passes on his back hip on underneath routes. Has some misses as a blocker when not focused.

Overall, Fannin is an extremely well-rounded tight end with great instincts, play speed, smoothness, strength, and ability as a route runner. He should be a potential first-round selection with the skillset to be used in a variety of roles and alignments.
