2025 NFL Roster Projection: Jacksonville Jaguars

With star power already on the roster, the Jaguars could turn things around rather quickly if the new regime has success reshaping the team in their image.

Quarterback (2)

Trevor Lawrence, Nick Mullens

One of the first moves made by head coach Liam Coen and general manager James Gladstone was to sign Nick Mullens as the backup to Trevor Lawrence—and he’s made 20 starts throughout his career. If a third quarterback is kept, John Wolford and undrafted rookie Seth Henigan are the contenders.

Running back (4)

Travis Etienne Jr., Tank Bigsby, Bhayshul Tuten (R), LeQuint Allen Jr. (R)

Jacksonville returns their backfield duo of Travis Etienne Jr. and Tank Bigsby, and it sounds like the running game will be more of an emphasis this season. The selection with Bhayshul Tuten in Round 4 will add another explosive element to the offense, and seventh-round rookie LeQuint Allen Jr. is a tremendous pass blocker that will try to beat out Keilan Robinson if a fourth runner makes the team.

Wide receiver (5)

Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter (R), Dyami Brown, Parker Washington, Austin Trammell

The Jaguars might decide to keep six wide receivers with No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter Jr. obviously having two-way potential, but who would the sixth guy be? The release of Gabe Davis makes it a wide-open battle with several options, including Joshua Cephus, David White Jr., and Louis Rees-Zammit. We wouldn’t count out undrafted rookie Dorian Singer—who had an abbreviated pre-draft process after petitioning to get another year of college eligibility—if he can get back to the level he showed at Arizona in 2022 with a 66/1,105/6 line.

Tight end (3)

Brenton Strange, Johnny Mundt, Hunter Long

Brenton Strange is set to be the clear starter at tight end with Evan Engram now in Denver—but three signings by the new regime could all push for playing time. Although we have Quinton Morris on the bubble and not making it with Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long being signed first, this is another position where the Jags could end up keeping another player.

Offensive tackle (4)

Walker Little, Anton Harrison, Fred Johnson, Javon Foster

There are several new options on the offensive line for Jacksonville, but starting tackles Walker Little and Anton Harrison remain. We’d expect the swing tackle to be Fred Johnson after he showed well last year with the Eagles, and 2024 fourth-round pick Javon Foster will be pushed by Chuma Edoga and Dennis Daley for a roster spot.

Interior offensive line (5)

Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Patrick Mekari, Wyatt Milum (R), Luke Fortner

Edoga could also factor in at guard, but the interior might be tough to crack with signings Robert Hainsey and Patrick Mekari expected to join Ezra Cleveland as the starters—while third-round pick Wyatt Milum (who we believe can thrive at tackle) and Luke Fortner are the top projected backups. Seventh-round pick Jonah Monheim is a name to watch, too.

Defensive tackle (5)

Arik Armstead, DaVon Hamilton, Maason Smith, Jordan Jefferson, Tyler Lacy

Investments on the defensive interior were made by the previous regime with Maason Smith (second round) and Jordan Jefferson (fourth round) both being drafted last year after playing together at LSU—so changes likely won’t be happening unless an undrafted free agent can force their way into a roster spot with a strong summer.

Defensive end (5)

Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, Emmanuel Ogbah, Myles Cole, Yasir Abdullah

Emmanuel Ogbah is the name added on the edge this offseason, and he’ll be a very solid third option behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. We’ll see how the new regime feels about seventh-round pick Myles Cole entering his second season, but we thought he could have been an early Day 3 pick last year, and this is another spot where the additions (other than Ogbah) were all UDFAs.

Linebacker (6)

Foyesade Oluokun, Devin Lloyd, Chad Muma, Ventrell Miller, Jack Kiser (R), Jalen McLeod (R)

Five linebackers appear set with Ventrell Miller and fourth-rounder Jack Kiser as the backups to Foyesade Oluokun and Devin Lloyd/Chad Muma, and the Jags doubling up at the position by also selecting Jalen McLeod in the sixth round might mean a trade is in the works.

Cornerback (5)

Tyson Campbell, Jarrian Jones, Jourdan Lewis, Montaric Brown, De’Antre Prince

The Jags will really have six cornerbacks with Travis Hunter playing both ways, and third-round pick Caleb Ransaw is listed as a safety but can play the slot. For the starters, Jarrian Jones is kicking outside with him and the new coaching staff on the same page, and Jourdan Lewis was signed with a three-year deal to play the slot; but what happens when Hunter enters the game in a big spot?

Safety (6)

Darnell Savage, Eric Murray, Caleb Ransaw (R), Antonio Johnson, Rayuan Lane III (R), Andrew Wingard

Again, Caleb Ransaw brings slot versatility, but he will be pushing for a starting job at strong safety as a rookie with four options ahead of him at cornerback. Veteran signing Eric Murray is the projected starter for now, and the special teams value of Andrew Wingard could prompt Jacksonville to keep six safeties on the roster.

Special teams (3)

Cam Little, Logan Cooke, Ross Matiscik

There is currently no competition in the kicking game for the Jags, as Cam Little will try to build on a rookie season that saw him hit 27-of-29 field goals, and Logan Cooke is fresh off his first Pro Bowl appearance.
