Tremendous instincts to jump routes in robber coverage. Reads the quarterback on throws over the middle in intermediate zone coverage. Quick to read and react in shallower robber coverage. Weaknesses

Inconsistent reacting in man coverage. Can fall a step behind on inside releases in press coverage. Allows too much separation on over routes in general. Feet aren’t as quick sticking with opponents in man coverage further down the field. Has some misses trying to hit at the catch point with receivers catching in stride at high speed. Can have trouble tackling quicker receivers after the catch when broken down. Seems to lack impact power as a wrap-up tackler. Lowers his eyes at time trying to get low for a head-on tackle. Quicker ball-carrier moves can evade him.

Overall, Haulcy is a very instinctive and intelligent safety who is at his best as a playmaker in intermediate zone coverage. For teams that miss out on Caleb Downs, he is a great fallback option as a player who similarly provides versatility and often seems to react quicker than everyone else.
