Strengths
Very twitchy overall player. Tremendous acceleration and burst. Elite speed. High energy and energetic movement skills. Extremely quick throttling down and turning on underneath stop routes. Excellent feet on pivot routes. Quick feet on hitches. Very good hands to reach for throws off his frame underneath. Used on designed speed outs after going in motion. Extremely quick snapping off out routes from the slot and closer alignment. Very quick and crisp on slants. Makes extremely quick cuts on in-breaking routes. Fast on intermediate in-breaking routes. Very fast and smooth on out-and-up double moves. Terrific over-the-shoulder concentration along the sideline with a defender on him. Great ability to extend for a diving grab to the side. Terrific feel to slow down and get his feet in bounds when throws take him towards the boundary. Excellent feet to get down along the sideline while extending. Calm with soft feet getting down between coverage on the boundary. Works hard back to the quarterback along the sideline on scrambles. Very strong hands working back to the football at his size. Comfortable making body catches. Secures low passes going to the ground across the middle. Mostly played outside at Oklahoma but saw snaps in the slot with the ideal skillset to work inside. Can be targeted on various screen passes. Weapon on pop passes. Used on motion handoffs from the slot. Tremendous quickness and burst to make the first defender miss on underneath passes. Great juke move. Destroys angles in the open field with his speed and acceleration. Will use a quick stiff arm as a runner. Showed he can finish off runs with physicality. Ideal effort and accuracy as a blocker on the perimeter. Shows aggression as a blocker.
Weaknesses
Smaller build. Burst as a route runner is less effective versus closer man coverage. Can struggle to avoid jams. Doesn’t stack and get behind cornerbacks often based on his speed. Struggled to get much separation from top Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood on the perimeter (2025). Has some focus drops. Lacks polish and deception on comeback routes. Could show more creativity after the catch with speed built up by throttling down and reaccelerating based on his skillset. Vision can be spotty and see him run into a tackle. Has trouble blocking bigger and more aggressive cornerbacks on the outside.

Conclusion
Overall, Burks is a twitchy, dynamic pass-catcher with crispness as a route runner both out wide and in the slot. He should at least be a dangerous underneath weapon with the skillset to turn into more of a three-level playmaker as he continues to develop.
