Strengths

Very good overall size and frame. Excellent speed. Wins on outside releases to get vertical. Impressive release footwork to avoid getting jammed at his size. Long strider on vertical routes. Smooth getting around on back-shoulder passes. Snatches the ball over the head of defenders on downfield passes. Tracks the ball very well to make high-point grabs on back-shoulder passes. Shows acrobatic ability on contested catches along the boundary. Great ability to get a foot down along the sideline on leaping grabs. Hands are big and soft. Good fluidity on corner routes and can separate out of press coverage. Big target on in-breaking routes. Shows he can snap off in cuts versus tighter coverage. Able to run away from defenders after the catch on in-breaking routes. Strong absorbing hits after the catch. Works back to the football on stop routes. Reliable settling between defenders at the intermediate level on stop routes. Will use physicality at the top of stop routes. Strong and reliable extending or making a small leap for a high pass underneath. Quality release footwork to win inside on slants. Impressive foot quickness at his size on hitches. Natural feel for split defenders after the catch on hitches. Good speed across the field on crossing routes. Saw snaps in the slot. Showed an ability to uncover and find space on underneath routes from the slot. Used on bubble screens. Saw snaps in tight or halfback alignment where he was targeted on a designed throw in the flat. Strong and physical after the catch. Very elusive for his size on underneath passes. Tremendous acceleration after the catch for a bigger receiver. Will lower his shoulder after the catch. Covers up the ball and doesn’t go down easily. Long catch-and-run touchdown versus Georgia showed talent/athleticism with the ball in his hands (2025). Big body blocking on the perimeter. Strong hands latch on and stay engaged. Ideal overall physicality and strength as a blocker.

Weaknesses

Simple overall route tree. More complex routes versus man coverage appear predictable and lack crispness. Too many routes in general lack polish. Slants aren’t always crisp and doesn’t always run through it after winning off the ball. Can struggle to separate versus closer man coverage. Doesn’t create much separation rolling into in-breaking routes versus a cushion. Would like to see him run faster across the field on drag routes. Coasts on too many routes when not the primary read. Had stretches where he was off the field in a rotation for Ole Miss. Would like to see more aggression turning into a blocker after a catch.

Conclusion

Overall, Stribling is a vertical threat with ideal size, speed, and receiving talent to win on the boundary. There is also reason to be encouraged about some of the versatility and run-after-catch ability shown, but more route polish is necessary for him to consistently win versus NFL cornerbacks.
