Strengths

Tremendous quickness. Instant acceleration. Very good speed. Joystick-type agility and change-of-direction skills running routes. Great overall crispness and efficiency as a route runner. Very quick release footwork. Able to separate in scoring territory. Extremely quick on zig routes. Very crisp on deeper slant routes. Quick feet on pivot routes. Goes hard at cornerbacks before cutting inside. Will take an in-breaking route the distance. Very difficult to stick with on crossing routes. Terrific hands for throws on his frame. Brings in passes without breaking stride. Extremely efficient on corner routes. Does a tremendous job stacking cornerbacks to get vertical. Deceptive stutter-and-go route where he barely loses speed. Will use a subtle head bob running vertical routes. Extremely smooth on out-and-up routes. Will track and come down with the deep ball as a safety delivers a hit. Effectively high points the ball. Outstanding leaping ability at his size and will hang in the air. Able to contort his body to make catches. Makes high-point grabs down the field. Will go up and secure the ball with a body catch in traffic when necessary. Gets on top of cornerbacks before sinking on comebacks. Excellent footwork and quickness throttling down between holes in coverage on stop routes. Great on perimeter and slot screens. Experience with a variety of bunch formations. Very twitchy with the ball in his hands. Juke move is extremely quick. Very elusive. Instinctive to evade tacklers after the catch. Used on motion handoffs. Gives effort and does a nice job moving his feet as a blocker. Keeps his hands attached as a blocker. Showed aggression on a block versus Notre Dame in the end zone and drew a facemask penalty from a frustrated defender (2025). Extremely dangerous punt returner.

 

Weaknesses

Average size and build. Can get jammed up off the line versus bigger or stronger cornerbacks. Hands are less consistent on tougher catches where he needs to extend (other than high-point catches).

Conclusion

Overall, Concepcion is a quick, explosive weapon with tremendous agility as a route runner and with the ball in his hands. He should be able to both stretch the defense from the perimeter and separate from the slot for an NFL offense.
