Strengths
Prototype size on the perimeter. Very soft hands making contested high-point grabs. Smooth body control playing the ball in the air down the field. Bouncy and light on his feet for a bigger receiver. Phenomenal ability to time his jumps and make a high-point catch over a defender. Tremendous ability to make spectacular grabs. Extremely soft hands and strong holding on for diving grabs with full extension. Excellent ability to make difficult one-handed grabs down the field. Very aggressive and efficient tracking and attacking the ball in the air. Knows how to create subtle separation at the catch point on downfield throws. Usually comes down with the ball playing above the rim. Tracks the deep ball very well in general. Quality build-up speed on vertical routes. Able to stack cornerbacks on fades. Big target and gets his feet down along the boundary. Settles between the cornerback and safety for hole shots. Catches everything smoothly. Soft hands snatching the ball out of the air. Excellent hands extending for low passes and going to the ground. Great agility at his size. Wins on inside releases running drag routes and crossers. Very quick at his size throttling down on hitches and curls. Cornerbacks seem to cheat with over-the-top coverage to allow him to separate on stop routes. Quick eyes and soft hands working back to the ball. Knows how to settle between coverage at the intermediate level from the slot. Smooth on out routes from the slot. Experience with close alignment in heavy personnel. Used on perimeter screens. Very strong after the catch. Shows some creativity and instincts to make opponents miss with the ball in his hands. Impressive vision as a runner. Has an effective juke move. Will lower his shoulder to finish runs. Great size and good effort staying in front blocking on the perimeter.
Weaknesses
Ran a very simple route tree. Has trouble separating from press man coverage. Disrupted too easily by press jams. Average acceleration and speed. Can be better creating separation and/or shielding off the cornerback on quick slants. In-breaking routes lack efficiency and burst. Should be a much better overall blocker at his size. Needs to be more accurate engaging as a blocker in space. Fails to connect with aggressive defenders as a blocker.

Conclusion
Overall, Fields is a prototype X receiver with very soft hands and excellent contested-catch ability down the field. Improving as a blocker, expanding his route tree, and playing in an offense that will give him chances to win 50-50 balls is key for him reaching his potential.
