Strengths
Strong and athletic build. Great power for his weight class. Plus overall athleticism. Hands are very active and effective. Will use length to keep blockers off his frame. Plays with desired physicality and effort. High motor. Quick at the snap and stays low shooting gaps. Good play recognition. Will use a subtle shoulder dip when working upfield. Has the strength to anchor versus double teams. Strong and reliable tackler. Seems to know where the sticks are and will make a stop before them. Lined up all along the interior and filled various roles. Very experienced with stunts. Brings plenty of energy to the defense.
Weaknesses
Agility and change-of-direction skills are just average. Repertoire as a pass rusher is limited when he doesn’t win early. Can be a bit slow to shed when blockers are able to engaged his frame. Missed the entire 2018 season with an Achilles injury.

Conclusion
Overall, Blacklock is a relentless interior defender that plays the run at a high level and can be a starting 3-technique in any scheme. The potential development made as a pass rusher will determine whether Blacklock is a solid role player or three-down difference-maker.
Wow I’ve seen him higher
Same first round but I doubt that happens.
Great work.
