Strengths

Very natural thrower with a loose arm. Good frame and stands tall in the pocket. Big arm that pushes the ball downfield. Release is slightly loopy but quick and effortless. Throws with touch on deep passes. Generally accurate on his initial read. Effective on drive throws over the middle. Will see it and rip it. Fits the ball in zones along the sideline. Very good mobility and speed. Great functional athleticism to extend plays (especially comfortable going to his left). Excellent on-the-move accuracy. Can make accurate throws from different platforms and angles. Shows physicality as a runner. Effective on zone reads. Better tape in 2018 than 2019.

Weaknesses

Struggles working through progressions. Poor field vision. Very questionable overall decision-maker. Reckless challenging coverage. Ball placement is too erratic. Unable to make feathery intermediate throws through coverage. Can get careless when pressured. Charged with marijuana possession in December (charges dropped, but terrible timing as he looks to maximize draft stock).

Conclusion

Overall, Love has impressive arm talent and plus athleticism, but he is a one-read quarterback that will really need to be coached up to reach his potential at the next level. Some areas will take a lot of time to improve, so Love will ideally land with a team that has a clear plan for him.
