Strengths

Low and compact runner. Very quick feet. Exceptional ability to square his shoulders and get north. Great stop-start ability with eyes and feet working together. Very good acceleration after putting his foot in the ground. Impressive contact balance with the strength to lower his shoulder into defenders and keep moving. Shoulders stay square to deliver punishment on contact. Excellent cutback vision and can peak to the second level. Tremendous cutback juke move. Pushes to the line of scrimmage before bouncing runs outside. Decisive short-yardage runner. Very effective as a receiver down the seam when lined up in the backfield. Sticks his nose in as a pass blocker. Used as a lead blocker in two-back split formations. Physical blocker on quarterback runs. Extremely tough. Didn’t even flinch to finish off would-be touchdown run by diving into two defenders with helmet taken off versus Florida State (2021).

Weaknesses

Average top speed. General vision behind the line of scrimmage can be inconsistent. Limited workload at Florida with no more than 106 carries in a season across four years.

Conclusion

Overall, Pierce is a physical runner that can deliver punishment but has the skillset to contribute in various ways for an NFL offense. His best fit would be as the part of a committee in Year 1 with the upside to handle 15-18 touches per game.
