Strengths

Fluid and athletic. Soft hands. Very effective at high-pointing the ball. Leaps in the air and shields off defenders for body catches. Experience running routes from a variety of spots. Big-play threat down the seam. Very good ability to sink hips in and out of breaks. Has underneath shake to get open. Effective getting open on stick-and-nod routes. Above-average speed. Excellent acceleration and smooth turning into a runner after the catch. Has a feel for open space in coverage. Can be used on designed throws to the flat as an H-back. Elusive as a runner with plus contact balance. Great effort and physicality as a blocker. Extremely effective lead blocker in space. Hits opponents accurately and stays square. Full speed blocker that makes forceful contact. Moves his feet to stay connected. Comfortable blocking bigger opponents inside. Plenty of experience as an in-line tight end in heavier personnel groupings. Had a monster game versus Arkansas State with eight receptions for 232 yards and four touchdowns (2021).

Weaknesses

Unique build that appears smaller that listed measurements. Below-average length. Not as effective on motion blocks from H-back alignment. Routes sometimes not very deceptive and can be telegraphed. Possible concerns about NFL transition due to combination of size, competition level, and play style.

Conclusion

Overall, Likely is a well-rounded tight end that blocks at a very high level and possesses big-play upside in the passing game. He would fit best in a tight end-centric offense and has a case to be the first player drafted at the position.
