Strengths

Prototype overall frame. Catches the ball very smoothly on in-breaking routes. Excellent on deep slants. Outstanding vision to quickly locate the ball in the air. Very effective on breaking off vertical stems to posts and outs. Above-average speed. Great hands in contested coverage. Very strong securing passes he gets his hands on. Extreme catch focus through contact. Very tough and reliable in traffic. Can slow play a route before creating separation with burst. Good pacing on drag routes. Trusted to come down with jump balls. Tremendous body control. Times his jumps and gets feet down on the sideline. Works back through the defender on underthrown passes. Smooth on deep double moves. Great post-corner move. High-end tracking skills on downfield throws. Good quickness settling into holes over the middle. Often moved into the slot late in games as a security blanket versus softer coverages when trailing. Used on perimeter screens. Has experience as a punt returner. High character (helped up chain crew member he knocked down).

Weaknesses

Footwork on route breaks can be more consistently efficient. Has some stiffness attempting to get off physical press coverage. Won’t win with shiftiness as a route runner. Limited elusiveness after the catch. Would like to see him add more muscle/definition.

NFL comparison

Michael Gallup

Conclusion

Overall, Doubs is well-rounded possession receiver that can also threaten the defense vertically. His skillset and play style are very comparable to Michael Gallup, and an NFL offense should feature him with a similar route tree.
