Strengths

Extremely energetic and competitive. Superb instincts. Excellent speed and plays fast. Tremendous quickness and movement skills. Very pesky in coverage. Able to stick to receivers in underneath coverage. Exceptional burst and stop-start acceleration. Great ability to jump routes. Stays on top of receivers on routes breaking back to the quarterback and out-breaking routes. Outstanding play recognition and reaction time. Twitchy feet in the backpedal and shuffle. Excellent fluidity opening and flipping his hips. Good feel for recovering with a lunge at the catch point. Quick to identify and react to perimeter screens. Mostly played on the outside but will switch between all three cornerback spots. Impressive strength for his size. Used as a slot blitzer. Aggressive tackler on the perimeter. Puts himself in position to play the run. Does what he can to wrap up as a tackler. Will take on blocks with aggression despite a lack of size. Extreme confidence with a short memory if beaten.

Weaknesses

Lacks ideal size and length on the outside. Needs to do a better job getting his head around to locate the ball and avoid penalties downfield. Not always prepared for vertical routes and is susceptible to double moves. Might be bullied through the route by physical receivers. Can be shielded off by bigger opponents. Will lose discipline in zone coverage by looking to jump something. Needs to be more consistently under control as a tackler. Would like to see better pursuit away from the play at times. Non-stop trash talker that might need to tone it down to avoid penalties.

Conclusion

Overall, Clark is a feisty, aggressive cornerback with the skillset to be a standout playmaker at the next level. The best fit will be in a scheme with limited deep responsibilities that allows him to use his instincts to be opportunistic underneath.
