Strengths

Outstanding athleticism. Excellent movement skills and fluidity in space. Very comfortable in the side shuffle and backpedal. Smooth opening his hips. Able to stick with opponents in vertical coverage. Good hands to check opponents early in routes. Impressive instincts and play recognition. Plus speed. Terrific acceleration to break on throws from off coverage. Great leaping ability. Excellent ball skills and tracks the ball at a high level. Wins with positioning and high-points effectively downfield. Very tough and willing to help versus the run. Accurate wrapping around the thighs of opponents to tackle. Will be the aggressor to come up with a tackle before ball-carriers get going. Great quickness to dart around or shed blocks. Good strength to stay on his feet against blocks from offensive linemen. Breaks down effectively to tackle on the outside. Mostly lined up at right cornerback but has played man coverage in the slot. Has the skillset and demeanor to transition to safety. Allowed a short touchdown to wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. but played very well versus Ohio State (2022).

Weaknesses

Below-average length on the outside that will preventing him from some challenges at the catch point. Mirror movements can be a tick delayed. Finds himself trailing on in-breaking routes. Needs to pass off zone responsibilities to stick with his area downfield. Will get caught with his eyes in the backfield as a zone defender. Allows some late separation on downfield throws if the quarterback hits the outside shoulder of pass-catchers. Really struggled to defend back-shoulder balls versus Iowa State wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson (2022).

Conclusion

Overall, Moss is a smooth, athletic cornerback with playmaking ability in coverage and toughness in run support. As a corner, he fits best in a zone-heavy scheme where he can mostly stay near the sideline.
