Strengths

Good build with a well-proportioned frame. Extremely balanced and smooth. Possesses natural strength. Very technically sound as a pass protector. High awareness. Moves his feet to mirror in pass protection. Very quick out of his stance in pass sets. Keeps a strong base with hands prepared to engage. Always stays square even when shuffling to a spot or speeding up his feet. Great ability to anchor versus power. Stays poised versus spin moves. Loose hips to turn and recover when defenders have an angle. Exceptional ability to redirect in the running game. Seamlessly shuffles and turns to square up a target. Works to drive after engaging as a run blocker. Generates push on double teams. Excellent field vision. Not rigid with his assignment and will ditch it to make the better block. Able to shove back smaller opponents in space. Doesn’t show his hand at all for screen passes on either side.

Weaknesses

Below-average length for an offensive tackle. Issues with length show when facing elite length that can get their hands on his chest (bull rushed by Iowa edge Lukas Van Ness in 2021). Will lunge and miss. Susceptible to inside counters. Needs to avoid wrapping hands around the back of defenders when engaging on the second level. Seemed to struggle versus high-quality opponents.

Conclusion

Overall, Skoronski is a smooth, well-rounded offensive lineman that gets the job done as a pass protector and run blocker. Some will want to move him inside to guard, but his skillset—aside from length—might make staying at tackle a better fit.
