Strengths

Solid overall size and strong lower half. Great overall athleticism. Huge hands. Quick to latch onto a defender that gets into his area. Very quick lateral movement to immediately reach an opponent off the ball. Tremendous lateral quickness and hip fluidity to get off a double team and connect with another defender on the opposite side. Good strength on down blocks. Able to drive when his hand placement and technique are on point. Plays with desired overall intensity. Has the strength to take down bigger opponents. Outstanding accuracy working down the line of scrimmage and kicking to the second level. Able to overpower linebackers on the second level when connecting accurately. Excellent overall mobility. Impressive fluidity on outside pulls. Very good acceleration and speed in space. Hustles to make blocks in the open field. Plays hard in general to finish blocks. Stays low with a wide base in pass protection. Great overall vision as a pass blocker. Moves his feet very well when attached in pass protection. Shows he can lock up bigger opponents as a pass blocker. Excellent anchor strength in pass protection and typically doesn’t allow a push as the rush progresses. Good strength and accuracy helping guards from the side in pass protection.

Weaknesses

Overall technique as a run blocker needs refinement. Often out of control and gets the job done with natural ability. Hand placement gets too low at times as a run blocker. Needs to be better sealing with a subtle turn after attaching. Too often fails to attach at the snap. Inconsistent pop connecting with a charge. Would like to see him get lower as a run blocker and in short-yardage situations. Really struggled early versus standout Ole Miss defensive lineman Walter Nolen (2024). Needs to be more consistent getting around moving targets in space. Can get too forward leaning and not connect cleanly as a pass blocker.

Conclusion

Overall, Wilson is an athletic center with natural ability, quickness, and strength who needs to refine his game. The effectiveness to get the job done despite a lack of polish bodes well for his NFL outlook as a coaching staff develops his game to match the skill.
