Great overall awareness and eyes as a zone defender. Former wide receiver with terrific ball skills. Aggressively attacks the ball in the air. Will bait quarterbacks with instincts and athleticism to take the ball away. Excellent size and body control to swat throws away on jump balls. Exceptional ability to match vertical routes out of the press. Shows confidence staying on the hip of opponents on downfield routes. Outstanding acceleration and recovery speed to not fall far behind. Able to stay close with quickness and speed if allowing some space on route breaks. Weaknesses

Sometimes delayed opening up to cover vertically. Can allow a step deep in cushion coverage. Shows some susceptibility to stutter moves down the field. Slower reacting to stop routes when in a full sprint. Could add more strength taking on blockers and tackling. Will get taken down by blockers in space.

Conclusion

Overall, Porter is a long outside cornerback with elite speed, tremendous movement skills, and high flashes of playmaking ability. The all-around skillset is there to play any coverage, but he is a natural fit with a team like the Raiders where he can patrol the perimeter in heavy Cover-3 usage.
