Strengths

Towering and monstrous overall size. Terrific length. Very light feet for his size. Highly impressive burst. Natural athleticism with thinner lower legs. Very good movement and change-of-direction skills. Will clog the interior based solely on his size. Can eat double teams as a run defender. Hands are big and powerful to shed. Quick to swipe and sidestep blockers. Excellent nimbleness to split blockers. Quick swim move as a run defender. Impressive strength and balance to keep his feet. Great overall play recognition. Quick reaction time to move and play the ball in the trenches. Gives good effort to tackle when he gets close to the ball. Uses spins to free himself from blockers. Shows discipline playing things on the edge. Tremendous bend and fluidity for a player his size. Closes space on the quarterback in a hurry due to size/length. Implements powerful and active hands as a rusher. Very strong side strike as a rusher. Grabs offensive linemen under their arms and will uproot them as a rusher. Shows some shake as a rusher. Fluid on stunts. Often used as a three- and four-technique in addition to nose tackle alignment. Lined up all over the defensive line from play to play. Saw snaps rushing from a two-point stance both on the edge and interior. Uses length and athleticism to reach for deflections. Communicates and points things out before the play. Played through a stress fracture in his back in his final season.

Weaknesses

Will get upright out of his stance. High pad level allows opponents to create leverage and move him back. Needs to be more controlled and stronger as a finisher. Should be more engulfing as a tackler at his size. Would like him to stop ball-carriers in their tracks when he gets hands on them. Inconsistent motor and relentlessness as a rusher. Lacks a power rush at his size. Questions about stamina and conditioning. Sometimes doesn’t even get all the way down in his stance and will just have his hand graze the grass. Will stand around away from the ball late in plays. Sometimes looks for a holding call rather than continuing to play. Moved off the spot and struggled to get off blocks some versus Georgia’s interior offensive line (2024).

Conclusion

Overall, Walker is a towering defensive lineman with a rare blend of size, movement skills, and power in his hands. If he can learn to play with leverage and unlock his pure strength as a rusher, there is plenty of upside to mold on the interior.
