Strengths
Tremendous size but carries his mass well. Very good lower body flexibility and movement skills for a bigger defensive lineman. Hands are big and very strong. Very quick and effective shedding. Accurate hand placement on the shoulders of offensive linemen. Extremely strong to extend after engaging. Impressive initial quickness and burst at his size. Able to side step blockers at the snap. Excellent swim move at the snap to win early. Immediately recognizes gaps to get into the backfield. Excels slanting down as a run defender. Shows a slanting swipe move. Tremendous balance and light on his feet. Often brushes off reach blocks and attempts to cut. Able to sink and anchor down versus double teams. Great overall play recognition. Comfortable taking on blocks while having his eyes in the backfield. Can steer a blocker to position himself in a running lane. Will get underneath blockers and extend before disengaging. Impressive pursuit quickness and range. Hits into opponents with force as a tackler. Quality speed when he gets rolling. Gives outstanding effort in pursuit. High intelligence and called some plays out before the snap. Shows fire and intensity as a run stopper. Often aligned as a three-technique but has the size and power to play nose tackle. Hands are very active as a rusher. Possesses the power and shake to improve as a rusher. Impressive agility getting to the edge on stunts. Quick reacting to get a hand up and bat down passes. Has experience in short coverage drops.
Weaknesses
Pad level can get too high. Will immediately pop up and be too upright at times. Can get pushed back some by double teams when he gets too high. Want to see more power to use the bull rush effectively. Will fail to generate a push as a rusher and stall out. Often doesn’t go anywhere as a rusher in general.

Conclusion
Overall, Williams is a big defensive lineman with natural athleticism, tremendous strength, and high understanding of how to defend the run. He is still developing as a rusher and might not provide much value on passing downs early in his career, but the skillset is there to improve.
