Strengths

Excellent overall size. Gets the job done as a run blocker with athleticism/skill and grit. Plays with desired aggression trying to finish blocks. Outstanding impact strength and overall power as a run blocker. Very aggressive and accurate on quick blocks towards the sideline. Tremendous strength and effectiveness to create a seal for blocks on the edge. Gives terrific effort to stay attached on the edge as a run blocker. Exceptional strength to drive on down blocks. Very strong when attached to linebackers on the second level. Will overpower smaller defenders when he gets his hands on them. Good fluidity to turn his hips in space. Very impressive acceleration and speed at his size. Quality vision and feel for making the correct block in space on screen passes. Shows quickness out of his stance into pass sets. Very accurate hand placement when attaching in pass protection. Keeps his hands in good position as a pass blocker. Has no problems with simple rushes when he gets his hands on opponents. Effective reaching to push blitzers off the path to the quarterback. Quick reacting to cover inside rushes and aggressive combating. Intelligent to avoid going downfield before the pass is thrown. More poised mirroring in his final season. Showed clear overall improvement from 2023 to 2024. Didn’t play football until his junior year of high school and has plenty of room to grow as a player.

Weaknesses

Average length for his size. General lack of foot quickness versus speed rushers. Will struggle connecting versus quicker speed rushes. Feet can be slow reacting versus shake moves. Still developing a consistent anchor versus power rushes. Can get on his heels and pushed back versus inside moves. Loses too often at the top of the rush. Too many misses in pass protection where he is forced to turn and abandon technique. Has general balance issues when his footwork is off. Misses when he lowers his eyes. Needs to be better attaching to opponents in space to begin with.

Conclusion

Overall, Ersery is a big, skilled offensive lineman with impressive traits as a run blocker and an encouraging development track. The issues in pass protection could necessitate a move to guard, but the improvement shown over the years provides optimism either way.
