Strengths

Phenomenal contact balance and rushing instincts. Extremely explosive. Unbelievable combination of strength/balance and determination at his size. Instant vision and sees the field as clearly as possible. Excellent pacing to press runs just enough before bouncing to the hole. Terrific feet and overall footwork. Cuts are quick and decisive. Great instincts to evade backfield penetration. Tremendous cutback vision. Very quick jump cut. Possesses easy breakaway speed. Outstanding acceleration. Will take it the distance if given a crease. Rare feel for the optimal path when he hits the second level. Consistently captures the corner on outside runs. Outstanding balance to turn the corner and sprint down the sideline. Great juke in the open field. Quick and powerful stiff arm. Tackle-breaking machine. Sheds tackles while barely losing speed. Keeps his legs moving to gain positive yardage after contact. Absorbs hits like a fighter and keeps rolling. Will try to truck an opponent if necessary. Lowers his shoulder into linebackers through the line of scrimmage. Able to shed arm tackles by big defensive linemen. Has a clear nose for the end zone. Shows he will cover the ball into contact. Experience with a variety of runs both under center and out of the shotgun. Great hands. Able to reach for balls away from his body. Confident catching passes slightly off target while on the move. Can be used on vertical routes lined up outside the numbers. Mismatch on wheel routes. Has lined up in the slot. Excellent vision and awareness in pass protection. Good technique as a pass blocker. Very effective picking up inside blitzes in pass protection. Had a dominant performance with 192 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in a 37-34 loss to Oregon (2024).

Weaknesses

Could be a bit better securing passes when contacted at the catch point. Had three lost fumbles over the final six games (might have been impacted by an elbow injury).

Conclusion

Overall, Jeanty is a complete running back with top-tier instincts, balance, explosiveness, and big-play ability. The consistency and reliability to pair with the rare natural talent and a three-down skillset should make Jeanty an offensive centerpiece that can transform an NFL attack.
