Strengths

Big and very athletic. Prototype overall build. Great speed. Outstanding strength. Covers plenty of ground as a big presence in robber coverage. Bursts to break on throws in front of him as a zone defender. Great skillset to match tight ends in coverage. Plenty of experience in both man and zone coverage out of the slot. Needs to be more consistent but has shown an ability to match quicker routes. Jams are extremely physical and strong. Uses length/reach to get a hand in at the catch point. Aligns all over and is comfortable close to the action. Fast as a blitzer from the edge. Strikes around the thighs to wrap up. Size helps him corral opponents when he gets his hands on them as a tackler. Will chop ball-carriers down in space. Accurate striking the target area of opponents when he does go for a crushing hit. Keeps outside positioning taking on blocks inside the box. Maintains outside positioning playing the run around the line of scrimmage. Very effective taking on blockers in the open field. Extends to take on a block while staying fast in pursuit. Will be the aggressor taking on a block and power through it. Fast and controlled in pursuit of ball-carriers towards the sideline. Athletic to track Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe to the sideline when he got out in space (2024).

Weaknesses

Seems to freelance too much in zone coverage. Inconsistent footwork in cover transitions. Stiff flipping his hips. A tick delayed reacting to sharp breaks by wide receivers in coverage. Somewhat slow breaking down and changing direction. Would like to see him hit with more force over the middle considering his size. Average play recognition to find the ball. Too many lunging misses when broken down versus more elusive ball-carriers. Needs to be more controlled as a tackler in the open field. Needs to fill the hole better in run support (particularly around the goal line). Struggled defending the run in scoring territory versus Alabama (2024).

Conclusion

Overall, Emmanwori is a big, talented safety with the skillset to be molded into a top cover man versus tight ends. Ending up in the right situation with a defensive mind that knows how to play to his strengths is key.
