Strengths

Excellent length on the interior. Very big hands latching on. Effective brawling style and instinctive making blocks. Naturally attaches when defenders are in his grasp. Extremely strong and accurate hands to attach and drive. Very accurate staying square and in front of opponents while driving. Gets his hands inside to create leverage. Does a great job getting leverage in general at his height. Able to get very low in his stance at his height. Moves defenders off the spot laterally. Will drive defensive linemen off the ball. Shows strength uprooting bigger opponents inside. Tremendous accuracy and targets low coming from the side on double teams. Does a terrific job staying attached through the block. Extremely aggressive in finishing blocks down the field. Ideal timing on combination blocks. Impressive quickness and accuracy switching blocks. Good quickness and stays low on reach blocks. Very good fluidity on interior and outside pulls. Smooth leading his way through the hole. Has enough athleticism and speed/acceleration to get out ahead in space as the lead blocker. Moves his feet and hips very well to turn and create a seal. Very accurate connecting at the second level on outside runs. Moves out smaller defenders as the lead blocker. Accurate connecting on the edge when pulling. Shows grit finishing blocks and torquing opponents to the ground. Very active mover trying to make blocks and follow the action. Excellent awareness as a pass blocker. Strong with a wide base in pass protection. Keeps his hands out and ready to extend and/or engage. Patient and extends to strike and knocks rushers off balance in pass protection. Very good technique sliding his feet with distance from rushers. Smooth moving his hips and feet to redirect as a pass blocker. Great feel for coming off a double team to handle a stunt. Moves his feet to stick with spin moves.

Weaknesses

Average quickness in pass protection. Quicker rushers can get around him off the ball. Slow reacting to and sticking with looping rushers. Rushers get to his side too often in general. Too often grabs opponents in pass protection. Can lose ground and get pushed back in pass protection. Pushed back too easily when rushers get to his frame. Inconsistent impact power. Sometimes gets too narrow in his lower half and doesn’t generate enough push. Usually gets the job done and shows good balance but can be a bit out of control on movement blocks. Attempts to stay low at his size sometimes leads to him ending up on his knees when connecting on the edge.

Conclusion

Overall, Reed-Adams is a brawling guard with a natural feel for attaching, playing with leverage, and finishing blocks. The average foot quickness as a pass blocker is the primary concern, but he shows instances where he moves his feet and might be able to improve.
