Strengths
Tremendous overall size. Built to maul and brawl. Bruising play style and mentality. Very good feet for his size. Impressive foot quickness to reset when defenders try getting past him. Good hip fluidity to change direction on the second level. Works to drive defensive linemen off the spot on down blocks. Will drive opponents to the ground in the running game. Powerful connecting from the side on double teams. Strong giving a quick shoulder off the ball before hitting another block. Powerful taking out the backside defender on interior pulls. Accurate on cross-formation pulls. Aggressive finishing blocks and playing through the whistle. Will look to bury opponents he gets to the ground. Hustles to follow the action after springing a run. Very strong anchoring down versus power rushes. Very good awareness and patience as a pass blocker. Extremely strong hands when he latches onto rushers in pass protection. Uses length to extend while keeping balance in pass protection. Strong pushing defensive linemen out when working inside as a pass protector. Impressive reaction time sticking with rushers using shake. Poised handling spin moves. Closes off inside spin moves. Will calmly guide speed rushers past the quarterback when he gets his hands on then. Seems prepared to speed pass sets with rushers geared up to get after the quarterback. Outstanding post-snap awareness for where the threat is as a pass blocker. Very good awareness dealing with stunts. Intelligent and aware in general. Called for teammates to hurry up and get on the ball in scramble situation. Had a touchdown run on a trick play versus Syracuse (2025). Three-year starter for Miami.
Weaknesses
Overall hand placement needs to be more consistent. Hand placement gets high and around the back of opponents too often as a run blocker. Needs to be careful about wrapping a hand around the shoulder/back of defenders in general. Can be high trying to drive defenders off the ball. Could struggle with wider speed rushes. More vulnerable to spin moves and other rush moves deeper in his slide. Slower sliding back out for edge pressure after handling an inside rusher.

Conclusion
Overall, Mauigoa is a bruising offensive tackle with excellent power, impressive mobility at his size, and great awareness. The hand placement needs to be more consistent, but Mauigoa has three years of starting experience and is still young with plenty of room for development.
