Strengths
Very big overall frame. Soft hands and can pluck the ball out of the air. Very good build-up speed. Big target on slants and runs them with ideal pacing. Quick footwork to win on inside releases. Impressive overall feet and fluidity at his size. Impressive crispness on slants and short post routes. Smooth catching the ball in stride on intermediate in-breaking routes. Effective diving to secure passes working across the middle. Will making diving grabs between coverage. Very fluid body movements at his size on shorter out routes. Will sell a vertical route with long early strides before throttling down on hitches. Great feet on comebacks and curl routes. Big target and presents a target on stop routes. Good ability to separate on out-breaking routes. Will work back to the ball at the top of routes. Extremely intelligent player in terms of running to open space in coverage. Very good awareness to sit as the hit route on cornerback blitzes. Able to stack cornerbacks on outside releases. Tracks the deep ball very well over the shoulder. Shows deception setting up and some suddenness breaking on corner routes. Effective running corner routes with limited room on the perimeter. Will adjust his body by starting to turn upfield at the catch point on over-the-shoulder grabs made at an angle. Terrific high-point ability shown down the field. Excellent size and athleticism on back-shoulder fades. Beat eventual first-round pick Nate Wiggins on a back-shoulder touchdown versus Clemson (2023). Outstanding catch focus when contested. Gets his feet down while extending for throws near the sideline. Flashed major ability with a more featured role at Miami. Often targeted on perimeter screens. Quick to accelerate and get up the field on screen passes. Great vision on screens. Exceptional strength breaking tackles after the catch. Physical and will lower his shoulder. Very impressive balance and fluidity with the ball in his hands. Surprising agility to step through low tackle attempts. Athletic lunging forward for additional yardage. Sometimes looks like a power back with multiple defenders trying to bring him down. Ideal size and good effectiveness as a blocker.
Weaknesses
Very limited production over his final two seasons after transferring to Georgia. Will slow play routes and coast at times. Has trouble getting on top of cornerbacks playing cushion coverage. Needs to be better fighting through contact as a route runner along the sideline. Could be slowed by accurate jams versus the press. Arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges and suspended in 2024.

Conclusion
Overall, Young is a talented wide receiver with size, physicality, impressive fluidity underneath, and an ability to win downfield. Limited production at Georgia and off-field issues are concerning, but Young can be a Day 2 pick based on his ability.
