With the Cowboys acquiring wide receiver George Pickens from the Steelers, it brings up the discussion about the best receiver duos in the NFL for 2025. The Vikings and Ravens are among the teams with wide receiver duos that have performed well together, but the top 10 is strong and difficult to argue against.
10. Seahawks: Jaxon Smith-Njigba & Cooper Kupp
Half the duos on this list are new teammates, starting with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp in Seattle. While many (including the Rams, apparently) feel that Kupp’s best football is behind him, the Seahawks are getting a determined and savvy veteran who knows how to get open. Meanwhile, JSN is coming off a 100/1,130/6 second season, emerging as one the game’s most reliable and underrated targets at 23 years old.
9. Dolphins: Tyreek Hill & Jaylen Waddle
This time last year, many would assert that the Dolphins have the NFL’s best WR duo. But both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are arguably coming off the most disappointing seasons of their careers. Waddle didn’t hit 1,000 yards for the first time after doing so in his first three NFL seasons, and Hill fell short of 1,000 yards for the first time since 2019—and the big plays weren’t there as much. This season will tell a lot about whether this duo can get back near the top or if Hill in particular has lost a step into his 30s.
8. Commanders: Terry McLaurin & Deebo Samuel
Coming off his fifth consecutive 1,000-yard campaign, Terry McLaurin might have had his best stretch overall with 13 touchdown receptions in Jayden Daniels’ first year with Washington. He’s now joined by longtime 49ers weapon Deebo Samuel, another determined player on a new squad. The rapport McLaurin has with Daniels paired with Deebo’s versatility should lead to a lot of production in 2025.
7. Jaguars: Brian Thomas Jr. & Travis Hunter
An immediate star-caliber target as a rookie, Brian Thomas Jr. is coming off 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024—and he’ll now play opposite No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter with Trevor Lawrence throwing them the ball in Liam Coen’s offense. Basically, both BTJ and the Heisman Trophy winner Hunter have all-around games to win at all levels of the field, as you see from other top pairings.
6. Lions: Amon-Ra St. Brown & Jameson Williams
We’re now entering the clearly elite territory of wide receiver duos, with each of these remaining six having a case for at least a top-three slot. Amon-Ra St. Brown is obviously a highly productive All-Pro receiver who also helps set the tone for the Lions, but Jameson Williams remains way under the radar entering Year 4 in the NFL. Williams just posted a 58/1,001/7 season—good for 17.3 yards per reception—and there’s room for even more. With ARSB moving the chains and Jamo torching defenses over the top, Detroit’s combination is tough to contain.
5. Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb & George Pickens
George Pickens is the only player in the league to post 50+ receptions, 800+ receiving yards, and average 15.0+ yards per reception every season since 2022. He was a steady producer each year for the Steelers, and there’s probably untapped statistical potential for him in an offense that includes all-world receiver CeeDee Lamb. There’ll be plenty of monster plays from the new Dallas duo, which will present a pick-your-poison challenge for defenses.
4. Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase & Tee Higgins
Joe Burrow has amazing chemistry with his two top guys, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins—a 1A/1B punch that made sure they stuck together with the Bengals long-term. Chase has talked about how much easier Higgins makes his job, and the attention Chase gets can help lead to big outings from Higgins—like his three touchdowns in the 2024 victory over the Broncos.
3. Rams: Davante Adams & Puka Nacua
The Rams have a new pairing of legitimate No. 1 receivers, bringing in touchdown machine Davante Adams to go with third-year pro Puka Nacua. Adams has 957 receptions for 11,844 yards and 71 touchdowns in his career, and he’s scored at least eight touchdowns every year since 2020. He was banged up last season, but in 2023 Nacua set a rookie record with 1,486 receiving yards. They should complement each other incredibly well and allow Matthew Stafford to have fun throwing the ball around.
2. Buccaneers: Mike Evans & Chris Godwin
Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are a championship wide receiver duo that’s been performing at a very high level for years, so they deserve a top-two spot among the league’s best. Evans has hit 1,000 yards in all 11 of his NFL seasons, while Godwin was looking like arguably the best receiver in the game last season before his ankle injury. If healthy, Evans and Godwin should be a big reason Tampa Bay can be dangerous in the NFC.
1. Eagles: A.J. Brown & DeVonta Smith
Coming off a Super Bowl victory—their second appearance in the Big Game—and again showing up when the lights were brightest, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are No. 1 among current NFL wide receiver duos. The two Batman WR options in the Eagles offense have long been underrated, and they remain so entering 2025. The ability for Philadelphia to run the ball with Saquon Barkley behind its top-tier offensive line will make it tough for both guys to hit 1,300-1,500 yards; but they perform when it matters most and remain in their primes.
