YouTube TV Reveals Pricing For NFL Sunday Ticket

Since 1994, NFL Sunday Ticket has been on DirecTV, with YouTube now taking over beginning with the 2023 NFL season. YouTube TV just announced the pricing for Sunday Ticket, which includes a couple of different options and the ability to save by signing up by June 6.

The pricing breakdown is as follows:

YouTube TV subscribers:

  • NFL Sunday Ticket: $349 ($249 by signing up by June 6)
  • NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL RedZone: $389 ($289 by signing up by June 6)

Primetime Channels (i.e., not signed up for YouTube TV):

  • NFL Sunday Ticket: $449 ($349 by signing up by June 6)
  • NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL RedZone: $489 ($389 by signing up by June 6)

YouTube TV costs $72.99/month, but Primetime Channels allows you to access NFL Sunday Ticket without signing up for YouTube TV. So YouTube TV members essentially get a discount.

NFL RedZone follows the action by highlighting some of the most important moments in games, including most notably when teams get into scoring territory.

We’d imagine Sunday Ticket will largely work the same as it did on DirecTV. If you are unaware, Sunday Ticket allows you to watch every live out-of-market game during the 1:00 PM ET and 4:05/4:25 PM ET windows (so no Sunday Night Football). Basically, Sunday Ticket allows fans to watch every game the league has to offer, assuming they access local broadcasts and the primetime games that are not shown on Sunday Ticket.

Part of the announcement on the YouTube Official Blog notes some improvements.

Our teams have been hard at work building a great experience for fans as we inch closer to the 2023 NFL season. On YouTube TV, members will have access to features like the brand new multiview as well as unlimited DVR storage, personalized recommendations, the ability to view key plays, NFL Fantasy data, real time stats and hide spoilers.

And we’re also bringing some of these innovations to NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube Primetime Channels, such as key plays and multiview. Users who subscribe through Primetime Channels will see live NFL games featured prominently in their feeds, so they can quickly jump into the action on game days, directly on YouTube. We are also working on adding shopping integrations so viewers can easily buy merchandise to support their teams, and social features that YouTube users are already familiar with, like chat, polls, and more.

YouTube TV is wisely integrating fan-focused things like fantasy football data—and features like shopping integrations to increase revenue.

This is a price increase from DirecTV, which had been giving some loyal customers free access to Sunday Ticket in recent years. However, hopefully YouTube TV includes a smooth operation in what’s an interesting experiment in streaming the vast majority of NFL games throughout a season.

NFL Sunday Ticket is available for $100 off for those that sign up by June 6.
