Our latest video on YouTube walks through five potential high-profile trades for teams to make in the coming weeks, including the Packers trading quarterback Jordan Love for a premium offer from the Jets.
Packers Stick with Malik Willis
One reason a Love trade should be worth considering—if indeed a team like the Jets were to send a massive offer potentially including the No. 2 overall pick—is that head coach Matt LaFleur has shown he can get excellent play from Malik Willis at quarterback. Over the past two years, Willis has arguably outplayed Love when he’s been in the lineup. Love is entering just his fourth year as a starter and can get more consistent, but going with Willis would save a ton of salary while perhaps getting similar production from the game’s most important position considering the top-notch situation LaFleur puts his quarterback in.
Raiders Reset
Taking it from the Bears side, it makes a ton of sense for Chicago to go after star defensive end Maxx Crosby. Vegas would almost certainly get a first-round pick out of the deal and more, but what if the Raiders also decide to trade the No. 1 overall pick for a boatload of capital while instead acquiring Jalen Milroe from the Seahawks to be their quarterback? The three-time Super Bowl champion franchise has work to be done to compete in the loaded AFC West, and bringing in a bunch of assets by dealing Crosby and the top pick is an intriguing path. Hitting on the picks you acquire is another story, though.
