YouTube Video: Rashee Rice’s Return Makes the Chiefs Super Bowl Favorites

The Kansas City Chiefs sit at 3-3 with an up and down start to the 2025 NFL season in terms of wins and losses, but there’s reason to believe the back-to-back-to-back AFC champions can become the second team in NFL history to make four consecutive Super Bowls. The offense is averaging 31.7 points per game over the past three games—and some wide receiver named Rashee Rice returns from his six-game suspension this week. The latest YouTube video from Wolf Sports dives into Rice’s ability and usage in Andy Reid’s offense.

Rice finally joins Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown among Kansas City’s receivers to create an extremely formidable trio. Brown just scored twice and Worthy once in the Week 6 Sunday Night Football win over the Detroit Lions. You also have Travis Kelce still there at tight end. Add Rice to the mix, and Patrick Mahomes again has an embarrassment of riches to work with on offense.

The film breakdown on Rice’s injury-shortened 2024 campaign after a knee injury shows that he became Mahomes’ top target in Kansas City, essentially taking over for Travis Kelce. Rice can beat defenses on all three levels, but it starts with his creative usage and the formations Reid and his staff deploy.

Also, Rice is one of the best catch-and-run weapons in football. Though he does have occasional drop issues, Rice has hands that pluck the ball for catch-and-run opportunities when he does make the catch—which happens a ton. Matched up with linebackers over the middle in zone coverage, the former second-round pick gets open with ease; he can also beat defenders deep.

In addition to his receiving ability, Rice brings a definite energy to the Chiefs, which spreads to his teammates. With all the weapons Mahomes has to throw to, playing in a scheme like Reid’s, it’s going to be a headache to stop this attack.

Add Rice to a clicking offense and pair it with a defense that’s been elite for a few years now under Steve Spagnuolo, and the Chiefs are arguably the NFL’s team to beat yet again.
