WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Anthony Sherman | Retired FB

Anthony Sherman has retired from the NFL.

Sherman had a very good run in the NFL, lasting ten years as a fullback (including the past eight seasons with the Chiefs). Sherman's career ends with 28 carries for 73 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown along with 66 receptions for 552 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. Sherman won a championship with the Chiefs when they beat the Niners in Super Bowl LIV, so he had a very good decade run in the league. Judging from his retirement announcement video, it appears Sherman will join HSI as a deputy sheriff, so it's good to see he has something lined up and we wish him the best of luck moving forward.

The Chiefs added Anthony Sherman to the reserve/COVID-19 list.

[UPDATE: Sherman has not yet tested positive for COVID-19, so he was likely in close contact with someone that has the virus.] Hopefully this isn't a sign of a larger issue within the Chiefs organization, but Kansas City will likely have to do without Sherman this Sunday. We hope Sherman is feeling better and can return to the team soon.

The Chiefs re-signed Anthony Sherman.

Kansas City continues their effort to keep much of their Super Bowl roster in tact heading into 2020, and Sherman will help pave the way for Damien Williams and company—while also contributing some as a receiver—this season.

The Chiefs are re-signing Anthony Sherman, according to multiple reports.

Sherman has spent the last six seasons in Kansas City, so it was hard to see him anywhere else. In an elite offense led by Patrick Mahomes, it's possible Sherman scores a few touchdowns in 2019, but he's not going to be a recommended fantasy option as a much better real-life contributor than fantasy asset.

Anthony Sherman | Retired FB

Anthony Sherman caught two passes for 19 yards in Sunday's win.

Sherman brought in both of his targets, but the star fullback is unlikely to make much of a statistical impact in January.

Anthony Sherman gets one carry in Week 14.

Sherman gained two yards on his lone attempt against the Ravens. Kansas City's fullback is tough to trust in fantasy lineups.

Anthony Sherman catches one pass in Week 10.

Sherman gained two yards against the Cardinals. The Chiefs fullback is not a recommended fantasy option.

Anthony Sherman | Retired FB

Anthony Sherman catches one pass in Week 8.

Sherman's lone reception went for ten yards. Kansas City's fullback might put the ball in the end zone on occasion, and he's a good real-life contributor for the Chiefs, but he's not a reliable fantasy option.

Anthony Sherman catches one pass against the Jaguars.

Sherman made a very nice sliding catch for a first down on an on-the-run dime by Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City's fullback is not a fantasy option at the moment.

Anthony Sherman catches one pass in Week 3.

Sherman's lone reception went for 16 yards. Kansas City's fullback is not on the fantasy radar.

Anthony Sherman | Retired FB

Anthony Sherman catches 36-yard touchdown in Week 1 win.

Sherman was on the receiving end of a perfectly thrown wheel route by Patrick Mahomes to extend Kansas City's lead to 31-12. It was his only touch of the game, and he remains off the fantasy radar as the team's fullback.

Anthony Sherman leads backfield in Week 17 win.

Sherman rushed 14 times for 40 yards and one touchdown, also catching three passes for 21 yards. The fullback was rewarded for 15 games of hard work by receiving the majority of the touches after Kareem Hunt housed his only touch of the game and then rested the rest of the way. Sherman will go back to a blocking role in the postseason.

Anthony Sherman catches one pass against the Giants.

Kansas City's fullback gained 11 yards on his lone reception of the game. He's obviously not a fantasy option, despite his real-life contributions to the Chiefs.
