WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Benny Snell | Steelers RB

Benny Snell churns out tough yardage in 20-13 win over Cleveland.

The game got off to a less-than-encouraging start with Jaylen Samuels seeing most of the work and the Browns jumping out to a 10-0 lead, but Snell eventually took over, finishing with 16 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown. If James Conner (shoulder) misses another week, Snell should be a low-end RB2/FLEX option thanks in large part to his touchdown potential, but it's worth noting that game flow could be a concern in Arizona.

Benny Snell gets 21 carries in Week 12.

Snell gained 98 yards on his 21 attempts against the Bengals, and he also added one reception for five yards in the Pittsburgh victory. The Steelers went with a committee approach with James Conner (shoulder) out again, but Snell was clearly the lead ball-carrier, with Jaylen Samuels getting just two carries (and Kerrith Whyte Jr. having the second-highest number of carries with six). Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was excited to get Snell back in the lineup after he missed a few games with a knee injury, and the rookie running back figures to remain the lead ball-carrier and a potential near-workhorse if Conner misses more time.

Benny Snell (knee) was officially a full participant in today's practice.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said yesterday that he's excited to potentially get Snell back in the lineup this week, and it looks like the rookie running back is ready to go against the Bengals. With James Conner (shoulder) looking iffy, Snell could have a nice opportunity to get a good number of carries in Week 12. He's worth looking into as an add, particularly in deep leagues.

Benny Snell had meniscus surgery.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Snell had his meniscus trimmed and is expected to miss two-to-three weeks. The Steelers are fortunately getting Jaylen Samuels back this week from his own knee injury. Snell does not need to be held in redraft leagues.

Benny Snell (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of tonight.

Before leaving, Snell had eight carries for 13 yards while mixing in for James Conner. Hopefully Snell's knee injury isn't something that'll keep him out for much longer than the rest of tonight, but more information should become available within the next couple of days.

Benny Snell (knee) is officially questionable to return to tonight's game.

It's unclear when Snell was injured, but hopefully it's not anything too serious and he can return soon. The rookie running back has been mixing in behind James Conner against the Dolphins.

Benny Snell | Steelers RB

The Steelers have selected Kentucky running back Benny Snell Jr. with the No. 122 pick (fourth round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Snell played three season in college for the Wildcats, but he was very productive in all three, with rushing lines of 186/1,091/13, 262/1,333/19, and 289/1,449/16 before leaving for the NFL Draft. Despite leaving school after three seasons, Snell is Kentucky’s all-time leading rusher. Snell doesn’t have exceptional athletic ability, but he has good size at around five-foot-ten and 224 pounds, and it won’t be surprising if he carves out a nice role in the NFL with the Steelers.
