The Texans have signed Chris Conley to a one-year deal.
Conley is another veteran addition for a drastically remade roster, but he should still provide plenty of athleticism in his age-28/29 campaign. The former Georgia standout will compete with Isaiah Coulter and others for snaps on a depth chart headed by Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb.
Chris Conley (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday.
The Jaguars will also be without D.J. Chark (ribs), so Mike Glennon is in a tough spot as he makes his first start of the season without two lengthy weapons on the outside. Browns D/ST should be one of the safest plays of the week against the Jags for Week 12.
The Jaguars exercised their team option on Chris Conley.
Conley set career-highs across the board with 47 receptions for 775 yards and 16.5 yards per reception while starting 14 games for Jacksonville last season, so this was fully expected. The Georgia product is still just 27 years old and should remain a strong contributor for the Jaguars in 2020.
Chris Conley (ankle) has returned for the Jaguars.
Conley probably got his ankle wrapped up, and he's back out there at the end of the second quarter with Jacksonville up 14-0 on Tennessee.
Chris Conley (ankle) is officially questionable to return to tonight's game.
Conley appeared to roll his ankle pretty badly, and he's currently being evaluated in the blue medical tent. Hopefully he can get the ankle taped up and return, but we'll update you as more information becomes available.
Doug Marrone doesn't think Chris Conley's best football has come yet.
During the annual coaches breakfast at the NFL Owners Meetings, the Jaguars head coach said of his new free agent receiver: "There are a lot of things that he does well... we feel like Chris’s best football hasn’t come out yet. There is a relationship with him and Foles, which is good. We’re excited to have him." Jacksonville has been hitting the receiver position hard the last few years, and he depth chart should have every position up for grabs, with competition hopefully leading to great play on Sundays. The former Chief should be in the thick of it for a starting role—and potentially the role of Nick Foles' No. 1 target. Foles knows Conley from his one year in Kansas City, which is a plus for the athletic receiver entering 2019. Conley has an insane 45-inch vertical, and it's possible he becomes Foles' go-to guy considering the former Super Bowl MVP likes to give his receivers opportunities to make plays in contested coverage on the outside.
The Jaguars are signing Chris Conley, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Conley has been a solid complimentary piece for the Chiefs his first four NFL seasons after being drafted in the third round by Kansas City in 2015. Last season, he had five touchdowns, but he saw just 52 targets as a better real-life contributor than fantasy asset. In Jacksonville, Conley should have an opportunity to win a starting job and a big role with new quarterback Nick Foles under-center for the Jags, and it won't be surprising if the 26-year-old breaks out and becomes a viable fantasy option. The Georgia product ran a 4.35 with an insane 45-inch vertical during his pre-draft process, and he's a willing blocker—he should see the field a good amount in 2019.
Chris Conley held without a catch in AFC Championship Game loss.
He was targeted once. The former third-round pick will now enter unrestricted free agency, and he probably would need a change of scenery to reach his potential, as the core of Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, and Travis Kelce are locked in as Kansas City's top playmakers. Conley won't turn 27 until October.
Chris Conley did not catch a pass in Chiefs' playoff win.
Conley was targeted twice in the Divisional Round win over the Colts. The athletic Georgia product is having his role decrease with Sammy Watkins (foot) back in the lineup for Kansas City.
Chris Conley held without a catch in Week 17 win.
He was targeted three times. Conley ends the regular season with 32 receptions for 334 yards and a career-high five touchdowns. He will rotate behind Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins (foot) in January if the latter returns.
Chris Conley catches three passes in Week 16.
Conley gained 54 yards on his three receptions along with a lost fumble in the Chiefs’ loss at Seattle. Aside from the fumble where he was holding the ball way too low and had it easily popped out, Conley played well. He’s difficult to trust in fantasy lineups with titles on the line, though.
Chris Conley caught two passes for 19 yards in Thursday night's loss to the Chargers.
Conley picked up a 16-yard gain and then was tackled close to the goal line on a three-yard grab, but he was mostly quiet as the Kansas City passing attack stalled. Kelvin Benjamin could eat into the Georgia product's snaps more in Week 16.
Chris Conley catches two passes against the Ravens.
Conley gained 13 yards on his two receptions (three targets) in the Chiefs' Week 14 overtime victory. This comes after Conley had three touchdowns in the past two games, so he'll look to bounce back this Thursday night against the Chargers. He has touchdown potential, but there are probably stronger options for the second week of the fantasy playoffs.
Chris Conley scores in Week 13.
Conley used a rub by the goal line to get wide-open in the end zone to catch a strike from Patrick Mahomes. Overall, Conley had three receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown. Conley has three touchdowns in his last two games, but he has a tough matchup next week against Baltimore and would have his role decrease if Sammy Watkins (foot) returns to the lineup.
Chris Conley scores twice in Chiefs' loss.
Conley was tasked with filling a bigger role with Sammy Watkins (foot) playing just a few snaps against the Rams, and the Georgia product did an excellent job helping Patrick Mahomes and company keep pace in a shootout. Conley caught seven passes (on eight targets) for 74 yards and a touchdown. The first score was a great lunging catch in the end zone for eight yards, and the second was late in the fourth quarter for ten yards to put the Chiefs up 51-47 before ultimately falling 54-51. This was an excellent performance from Conley, but he'll be difficult to trust in fantasy lineups if Watkins is ready to go after the bye week.
Chris Conley catches one pass against the Cardinals.
Conley gained 22 yards on his lone Week 10 reception. The athletic receiver would have some FLEX appeal if Sammy Watkins (foot) misses next week against the Rams, but Watkins is expected back in the lineup.
Chris Conley catches one pass against the Browns.
Conley's lone Week 9 reception went for 23 yards. On his other target in the game, Conley had a drop on a would-be first down. The Georgia product might be in the FLEX mix if Sammy Watkins (foot) misses any time, but Watkins is expected to be fine.
Chris Conley doesn't catch a pass in Week 8.
Conley had a couple of false starts in the Chiefs' win against the Broncos, so it wasn't his best day personally. However, the Georgia product might be worth a look as a FLEX option if Tyreek Hill (groin) misses any time.
Chris Conley catches lone target against the Bengals.
Conley gained six yards on his lone reception in the Chiefs' Week 7 win. The Georgia product is an excellent third wide receiver for the Chiefs, but his role isn't quite big enough to deliver consistent fantasy value.
Chris Conley catches 19-yard pass in loss to the Patriots.
It was Conley’s only reception of the game. He will look to make an impact against the Bengals next Sunday night, but Conley isn’t a recommended fantasy option on a loaded offense.
Chris Conley catches two passes in Week 5.
Conley gained 21 yards on his two receptions (five targets) against the Jaguars, working as a reliable third receiver for Patrick Mahomes. Conley will have startable performances, but he's too risky to insert into fantasy lineups right now.
Chris Conley catches four passes in Chiefs' win.
Conley gained just 13 yards on his four receptions (six targets) against the Broncos, but he was a reliable target underneath for Patrick Mahomes. Conley had a touchdown in consecutive weeks before this outing, and he might have to step up in a bigger role if Sammy Watkins (hamstring) misses more time after leaving tonight's game. Conley is not a highly-recommended fantasy option for Week 5 against the Jaguars.
Chris Conley scores in Chiefs' win.
Conley was targeted three times against the Niners, catching two passes for 13 yards and a touchdown. The score was on a spectacular scrambling play by Patrick Mahomes, who lasered as pass to the corner of the end zone while on the run; but Conley did a really nice job of making himself available for his quarterback. Conley is another great athlete in a stacked offense, but his role isn't big enough to deliver consistent fantasy value.
Chris Conley scores in Week 2.
Conley caught a post from the slot for a 15-yard score on one of Patrick Mahomes' three first-quarter touchdowns against the Steelers. Conley fumbled his only other reception of the game, and ended up with two receptions (on two target) for 17 yards, a touchdown, and a fumble lost in the win. The athletic Conley is a valuable member of Kansas City's offense, but he's difficult to trust in fantasy lineups.
Chris Conley catches one pass in Week 1 win.
It went for 15 yards. We like Conley's talent, but he will have a difficult time turning into a fantasy contributor with everyone from Tyreek Hill to Anthony Sherman getting involved on Kansas City's offense.
Chris Conley (Achilles) says "things are pretty close back to normal."
Conley suffered his torn Achilles in Week 5 of last season, but he's been participating in offseason activities and feels close to 100%. He's not participating fully, as they don't want to push too much volume, but it sounds like he could be full-go for training camp. Kansas City added Sammy Watkins to a big contract in free agency, but they also lost Albert Wilson to the Dolphins in free agency, so Conley has a good chance at being the team's third wide receiver behind Watkins and Tyreek Hill. Before his injury last season, Conley was averaging 15.9 yards per reception. Conley is a very gifted and athletic player, and his presence should help make the Chiefs one of the most athletic and exciting offenses in the league this season. Conley might not be a big-time fantasy factor in standard-sized leagues as long as Watkins and Hill stay healthy, but he's a boost for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the offense overall.
Chris Conley gets carted off with lower leg injury.
This looks to be a very serious injury for the fourth-year receiver, as a slow motion shot showed his calf "rippling." Obviously, it's early to say for certain what the injury is, but it certainly looks to be an Achilles injury for Conley. It's very unfortunate to see, and—though he doesn't put up huge numbers—he's a big part of the Chiefs offense and they'll need to find ways to replace him. Second-year receiver Demarcus Robinson is a candidate for more snaps.
Chris Conley gets four targets in Week 4.
Conley caught two passes for 31 yards against the Redskins, and he was targeted deep by Smith as well but they did not connect. Through four games, the third-year receiver is on pace for 32 receptions, 516 yards, and no touchdowns, but he could certainly improve that pace moving forward.
Chris Conley catches all four targets in Week 2.
Conley had a very solid game against the Eagles, gaining 55 yards on his four receptions, including an important 35-yarder on a go route. Despite his clear contributions to the Chiefs in real life, he's not yet a reliable fantasy option in your lineup. He's worth a bench spot, though.
Chris Conley catches two-of-four targets in Week 1.
Conley had a 25-yard reception and an 18-yard reception versus New England. The third-year receiver will probably be more of a contributor in real life than in fantasy, but he'll have some good weeks and should be more consistent in the box score this year.
Chris Conley plays very well in preseason opener for KC.
After the departure of Jeremy Maclin, Conley is expected to step up for the Chiefs. He had two receptions for 46 yards, including a very nice back-shoulder catch in the first quarter. Conley also had a long touchdown called back because he was called for offensive pass interference. The third-year receiver from Georgia has a lot of athletic ability, and he could have a breakout season after he progressed through his two seasons in the NFL. He's a sleeper in deeper leagues.
Chris Conley caught four passes for 55 yards in Week 17.
Conley has taken step forward in his second season, with 44 receptions for 530 yards. He didn't score, but is a regular player for the Chiefs' offense. Conley will be a key part of the Kansas City offense in the playoffs.
Chris Conley catches two passes for 70 yards against the Raiders.
Conley had a beautiful diving catch for a 39-yard gain early in the game, then got a clutch first down with a 31-yard gain late in the game. With Jeremy Maclin back, Conley can step into more of a complimentary role to Maclin, Kelce, and Tyreek Hill. Conley is more of a contributor to the Chiefs than he will be for your fantasy team. He can stay on the waiver wire.
Conley doesn't catch a pass in win.
The second-year wideout can stay on the waiver wire. Jeremy Maclin is expected back for Week 14.
Chris Conley catches three passes for 26 yards in Week 12 win.
He’s not really on the fantasy radar despite his contributions to the Chiefs offense.
Chris Conley caught four passes for 28 yards in the Chiefs’ loss to Tampa Bay.
Conley still doesn’t have a touchdown in his career, and can stay on the waiver wire outside of deeper leagues, even if Jeremy Maclin (groin) remains out.
Conley catches just one pass in win.
It went for 12 yards. The second-year player had a chance to step up with Jeremy Maclin (groin) out, but rookie Tyreek Hill (10 catches, 89 yards) was the only player for go over 31 receiving yards. Conley is off the fantasy radar for this year.
